THE OLDEST PERSON IN THE WORLD is a documentary film that weaves together portraits of the people who hold the Guinness Record for being the oldest person in the world, serving as a meditation on time and the poignancy of being alive.
In production since 2015, we intend to release an updated version of the film every 10 years until the three filmmakers — director Sam Green and producers Josh Penn and Alison Byrne Fields — have all died.
Today, the oldest person in the world is Maria Branyas Morera, a US-born woman who lives in Catalonia.
