For PROCESSION, director Robert Greene partnered with six adult male survivors of childhood sexual abuse by Catholic priests to script scenes based on their real-life experiences, giving them an opportunity to confront, examine, and process their experiences.
Greene asked Aggregate to follow that same model by collaborating with the documentary’s participants to develop the impact campaign strategy.
The resulting campaign reflected the participants’ desire to achieve justice for themselves and other survivors and contributed to the dialogue in the documentary film community about how to tell stories of trauma in a manner that does not further the trauma.
